IHG has launched a targeted Diamond Fast Track offer valid for stays between February 8 and March 24, 2024.

After registering for this offer, eligible members who consume 8 nights during the promo period get a Diamond status through the end of 2024.

IHG One Rewards Elite Requirements:

You can earn Diamond status by having 70 elite qualifying nights or earning 120K base points.

Diamond Benefits:

The most valuable Diamond member benefit, introduced in the program refresh in 2022, is the hot breakfast for two (no continental breakfast nonsense like many other programs).

Milestone Rewards:

IHG also introduced Milestone Rewards in 2022, and the most valuable option is the Annual Lounge pass at 40 or 70 nights.

Conclusion

IHG has had targeted and open Diamond fast track offers yearly, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we see one later this year as well (hotels and not the chain provide these benefits).

It is unclear if this offer targets those who had a Diamond status in 2023 that expired this past January, and now there is a path to reclaim it by staying eight nights.

*To participate in the “8 Nights to Diamond Elite” promotional offer (the “Offer”), an individual must be an IHG One Rewards member and must be invited to participate in the Offer. After receiving an invitation, the member must register their member number in advance in order to be eligible for the Offer. The promotion period begins on 8 Fe‌b‌rua‌ry ‌2‌02‌4, and ends on 2‌4 Ma‌rc‌h 2‌02‌4 (the “Promotion Period”). Once a member registers for the Offer, the member will be able to earn IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status, and start enjoying the associated benefits, by staying just eight (8) qualifying nights at participating IHG® Hotels & Resorts during the Promotion Period.

To be a qualifying night under this Offer, the room night must be part of a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay and must fall within the Promotion Period.  Completed stays prior to registration or outside of the Promotion Period are not included. By way of example, a member who registers for the Offer on ‌9 Fe‌bru‌ary 2‌02‌4, and has a Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay at a participating hotel with a check-in date of 6 Fe‌brua‌ry ‌ 2‌02‌4, and a check-out date of 1‌1 Fe‌bru‌ary 2‌02‌4, will be credited with three (3) qualifying nights, for the 8‌t‌h, 9‌t‌h and 1‌0t‌h Fe‌br‌uar‌y. The member will not receive credit for 6th Fe‌brua‌ry ‌ or 7‌t‌h Fe‌b‌rua‌ry ‌ because those nights were prior to the Promotion Period.

For purposes of this Offer, a “Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with a total spend exceeding $30 USD (or local equivalent) per night. Participating hotels include all IHG® Hotels & Resorts, with the exception of those Six Senses® Hotels Resorts Spas and Iberostar Beachfront Resorts that do not participate in the IHG One Rewards programme. Stays booked using Reward Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion Eligible Qualifying Stays for purposes of this Offer. Bookings made through online travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking‌.c‌om or expedia‌.‌c‌om also do not qualify under this Offer. If more than one member who registered for the Offer checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn status under this Offer for those nights that qualify. If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will only receive credit towards this Offer for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of an Offer-Qualifying Room Night.

Diamond Elite status awarded under this Offer will be reflected in the member’s IHG One Rewards account following completion of the number of qualifying nights required to achieve such status, as described in these terms and conditions. Once a member receives a Diamond Elite status upgrade through this Offer, the member may keep such status through the end of 20‌24.  Any Elite status at any level for the 20‌25 calendar year and beyond must be earned by the member in accordance with the IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions or, if applicable, pursuant to a special promotion offering the member an opportunity to attain such status for the time period prescribed. The time needed for awarding status can vary with each promotion, so please allow up to 6 weeks for the status to be reflected in the recipient’s member account.

A member’s participation in the IHG One Rewards program and this Offer are subject to the IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions, which can be found here or by visiting ihgonere‌wards.c‌om . IHG may retract Diamond Elite status granted under this Offer, and withdraw any points associated with such upgraded status from the member’s account, if such status was awarded in error or if the member was not eligible to participate.  IHG also expressly reserves the right to remove a member’s points, downgrade their status or suspend or cancel their account if fraudulent use of the Offer is detected, and any fraudulent or other prohibited activity relating to a member’s account or a member’s participation in the IHG One Rewards programme or this Offer is subject to the IHG One Rewards Membership Terms and Conditions, including any of the identified actions that may be taken in response to such activity.
